Connecting to installed instances

Connecting SQLBench to a SQL Server system requires only a few, simple steps.

The SQLBench Agent Config utility is used exclusively for adding SQL Server systems to SQLBench. The SQLBench Web Portal is not be used for adding or removing SQL Server systems from SQLBench monitoring.

Steps

  • Open the SQLBench Agent Config GUI
  • Click "Add"
  • Select "Installed Instance"
  • Choose a SQL / Windows Login
  • Fill in the name of the SQL Server instance
  • Click "Test" (to test accessibility & permissions)
  • Click "Close" (presuming accessibility & permissions tests pass)
  • Click "Save"

  • Click "Add"

  • Select "Installed Instance"
  • Choose a SQL / Windows Login
  • Fill in the name of the SQL Server instance
  • Click "Test" (to test accessibility & permissions)

Agent Test

  • Click "Close" (presuming accessibility & permissions tests pass)

Save

  • Click "Save"
